1)let x be the amount the eider sister get and y be the amount that the younger sister get. 120 = x + y ~ (1) 1/5 x - 1/6 y = 13 ~ (2) x = 120 - y 1/5 (120 - y) - 1/6 y = 13 ...... 6 (120 - y) = 5 (78 y) ...... y = 30 x = 90 2)let x be the pocket money Susan recived from last week. 1/3 (250 x) 100 = 420 ...... x = 710 3)I think u have miss out something. There is no clue for $1 coins. ~_~ 4)let x be the load Ben is carrying and (1/3) x be the load Alex is carrying and (1/2) x be the load Curtis is carrying. x (1/3) x (1/2) x = 77 ...... x = 42 5)let x be the amount of money that Thomas gives to Dorothy.
